This year Solentra has been very fortunate to have several organisations and individuals supporting the organisation throughout the fundraising event Music for Life (organised by www.stubru.be). The Christian Health Fund (CM) was one of them, they organised a Christmas Market during one of their lunch breaks and offered food and drinks to all colleagues. The total amount raised was 1253,88 EUR, the head office decided to double that number. Proceedings will be divided over Minor Ndako and Solentra.
Thank you very much CM!!!

The European parliament is supported by different commissions providing papers and studies to support parliamentary work.
One of the commissions, FEMM, works on topics related to Women's Rights and Gender Equality.
Their latest work provides information on the reception of female refugees and asylum seekers in the EU, with a case study of Germany and Belgium.
Solentra was happy to provide knowledge on the Belgian situation.
The study can be found here.
Solentra is pleased to announce that we will be joining the YUNECO network as of October first.
This network for mental health for children and adolescents will serve Vlaams-Brabant.
We are looking forward on sharing our knowledge of transcultural psychotherapy and thus move a step closer to reaching our goal of maximizing the accessibility and efficiency of mental health care for children and youth with a migration background!

Geert Serneels is elected psychologist of the year 2016.
Every year, the Ghent Alumni Psychology (GAP) , presents the award "psychologist of the year". This year they choose director Geert Serneels because of the work done by Solentra involving trauma relief for refugee children.
The event will be held on June 2nd from 19:30 in the Aula University of Ghent (Volderstraat).
To maximize this opportunity to sensibilize the audience about the subject Solentra was involved in the set up of the evening.
The program is gradually taking shape: dr. Annik Lampo and laureate Geert Serneels are among the speakers. We also organize a fascinating panel discussion: Anja Dewilde (file coordinator UMs, Commissioner General for Refugees and Stateless Persons), Dr. Hilde Van Gastel (senior manager Asylum Seekers in Red Cross-Flanders), dr. Kathia Van Egmond (Medical coordinator, Fedasil) and Dr. Reginald Moreels already confirmed their presence.
We will communicate the full program as soon as possible.
All info can be found through the link provided, entry is free but registration is required.
Hope to meet you on June 2nd.
