For whom?

This project provides free culture- and trauma-sensitive mental health care to young people (15-24) with a refugee background in Ghent and surroundings. This target group often struggles to access the mainstream care offer because of long waiting lists, financial barriers or a lack of interpreters and knowledge about culture- and trauma-sensitive counselling.

What?

The Missing Link is a project by civil organisations in cooperation with Solentra. Because of their proximity and low threshold, these organisations have built an important relationship of trust with the youngsters, which is crucial to provide psychosocial support.

To enhance the prevention and early detection of serious psychological problems, Solentra provides training and a free helpdesk for volunteers from civil organisations and professional support workers.
